“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian Life, the Gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which access to other sacraments.
Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God: we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission…” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213)
Baptism of infants and young children:
Infants and young children of registered, practicing parishioners are eligible to have their child baptized. This Sacrament is performed on the fourth Sunday of the month and will be conducted after a baptismal preparation course has been completed. Baptismal Prep will be conducted at St. Gregory the Great Parish on the first Sunday of the month. Baptisms are celebrated by appointment only and require a meeting with the priest before any date can be booked.
**Please note: In order to have your child baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, one or both parents must be baptized Roman Catholic and must attend Mass regularly.
